If you do the math, current peers alone - excluding the ones having left after the fake announcement - have exchanged 702 (# of peers) * 6,1 GB * 75,8 % (average completion) = 3,25 TB of nonsense. All this could be fed through no more than a tiny 55 kB/s uplink.

Nice idea! I have to admit that I was dumb enough to download the whole thing without checking it. After realizing that the password was wrong, it looked it up at google and found this page.
While being 95% sure that this was a fake, that 40kb/sec don't really hurt on current internet connections, so I gave it a try and hoped for the other 5 percent...
